Q. Where can I get or create a file for 3D printing?
There are two ways to obtain a model for 3D printing. You can either create your own model using various software, or download from an open source platform.
Create a model file from scratch
We recommend using the following software to create your 3D model:
Tinkercad is a free, browser based 3D modelling software, which is easy for beginners to pick up 3D printing. You need to create an account first before you can use the software, but it is free and comes with many tutorials to help you get started.
Fusion 360 is a 3D modelling software for advanced users who wants more and you can download and install on your laptop or PC. It is free for students when you create an account using your school email.
Download from an open source platform
